For how we collect and use personal data, please review our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated by reference into these Terms.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing or using the Canadian Daily Online Report website (the “Site”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (the “Terms”). If you are using the Site on behalf of an organization, you represent and warrant that you have authority to bind that organization and that the organization accepts these Terms.

The Site is intended for users who are at least 16 years old. If you are under 16, do not submit any personal data through our forms. If you are 16 or 17, you should use the Site only with the involvement of a parent or guardian who can review these Terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. Description of the Service

Canadian Daily Online Report provides informational summaries of digital topics that are gaining attention in Canada. The content may include daily scans, trend summaries, regional notes, and archives. The Site is designed to support understanding of public online conversations and terminology by presenting concise definitions, context, and “what to watch” indicators.

The Site does not provide legal advice, financial advice, medical advice, or professional consulting. Our editorial approach is neutral and descriptive. We do not claim that our coverage is exhaustive, and we do not claim that any topic represents a definitive public consensus. The Site may include links to external sources for convenience, and those sources are outside our control.

3. Accounts, subscriptions, and communications

Some features, such as subscribing to an email summary, may require you to provide an email address. When you submit your email through our subscription flow (available at /subscribe/), you agree that we may send you the report and service communications related to delivering it. You can unsubscribe using the link included in our emails. We may also send non-marketing operational messages (for example, updates to delivery, confirmations, or security notices).

You are responsible for providing accurate contact details and for keeping them current where applicable. You must not use another person’s email address without permission or impersonate any individual or entity.

4. User obligations and acceptable use

You agree to use the Site lawfully and in a way that respects other users, our staff, and third parties. You are responsible for your own internet connection and device security, including keeping your browser and operating system updated.

  • Do not attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site, servers, or related systems.
  • Do not scrape, crawl, or harvest content or data in a way that disrupts the Site or violates applicable law.
  • Do not reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from non-public portions of the Site.
  • Do not introduce malware, viruses, or any code intended to interfere with functionality or security.
  • Do not use the Site to send spam, phishing messages, or deceptive communications.
  • Do not interfere with rate limits, security features, or access controls.
  • Do not misrepresent affiliation with Canadian Daily Online Report or claim endorsement where none exists.

We may suspend access to the Site if we reasonably believe your activity threatens the Site’s security, availability, or integrity, or if you violate these Terms.

5. Intellectual property and license

The Site, including its design, layout, compilation of content, text, graphics, logos, icons, and code, is owned by Canadian Daily Online Report Inc. or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws. “Canadian Daily Online Report” and associated branding may be trademarks of the company.

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to access and use the Site for your personal, non-commercial use. You may share links to our pages, and you may quote brief excerpts for commentary or citation where permitted by applicable law, provided you include appropriate attribution and do not present excerpts in a misleading context.

You may not reproduce, distribute, create derivative works from, publicly display, or commercially exploit substantial portions of the Site content without our prior written permission.

6. Prohibited activities

In addition to the obligations described above, you agree not to engage in the following prohibited activities:

  • Using automated tools to overload or degrade Site performance, including denial-of-service attempts.
  • Copying the Site’s structure or content to create a competing product without authorization.
  • Using the Site to violate third-party rights, including privacy, copyright, or trademark rights.
  • Attempting to bypass consent controls or interfere with cookie preference storage.
  • Submitting false reports, false contact details, or abusive messages through any form.
  • Framing, mirroring, or embedding the Site in a way that suggests association or endorsement without consent.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

The Site and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Canadian Daily Online Report Inc. disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components. We do not warrant the accuracy, completeness, timeliness, or reliability of any content. Digital topics change quickly; a summary that is accurate at the time of publication may become outdated.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Canadian Daily Online Report Inc. will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, loss of data, loss of goodwill, or business interruption, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Site.

To the extent that we are found liable for any direct damages, our aggregate liability for direct damages in connection with the Site will be limited to the lower of: (a) the amount you paid to us for the service in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) €100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability. In those jurisdictions, our liability will be limited to the greatest extent permitted by law.

9. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Canadian Daily Online Report Inc., its directors, officers, employees, and contractors from and against any claims, damages, liabilities, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to: (a) your use of the Site, (b) your violation of these Terms, or (c) your violation of any law or third-party rights.

10. Third-party links and services

The Site may reference or link to third-party websites and services. Those third parties have their own terms and privacy practices, and we are not responsible for their content, policies, or operations. Links are provided for informational convenience and do not constitute endorsement.

11. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, the purposes and legal bases for processing, retention periods, sharing with processors, and your rights. By using the Site, you acknowledge that you have read the Privacy Policy and agree that it is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

12. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein, without regard to conflict of law principles. You agree that the courts located in Toronto, Ontario will have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Site, except where prohibited by applicable law.

13. Dispute resolution

Before commencing a formal legal proceeding, you agree to attempt to resolve the dispute informally by sending a written notice to us describing the issue and the relief you seek. We will make a good faith effort to respond within 30 days. If we cannot resolve the dispute within that period, either party may pursue a claim in the courts specified under the Governing law and jurisdiction section.

14. Termination and suspension

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms, created risk for the Site or other users, or engaged in unlawful conduct. Where feasible, we may provide notice, but we are not obligated to do so in all cases.

The following sections will survive termination: Intellectual property and license, Disclaimer of warranties, Limitation of liability, Indemnification, Governing law and jurisdiction, Dispute resolution, and Contact.

15. Modifications to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes to the Site, legal requirements, or operational practices. Unless a shorter period is required by law, changes will take effect 14 days after they are posted on this page.
